In the first part, the cell and its functions, the membrane physiology, nerve and muscle, membrane and action potentials, contraction and excitation of skeletal, cardiac and smooth muscle are described.

In this module a comprehensive description of the circulatory,urinary and respiratory system is taught. Emphasis is given on the function of the heart, its rhythmical excitation, the cardiac cycle and the accompanying electrical phenomena. An overview of the circulation and the control of blood flow and arterial pressure are thoroughly dealt with.

In this module a comprehensive description of the nervous, endocrine and gastrointestinal system is taught.

The main topics of the nervous system include the functional anatomy of the nervous system, general principles and sensory physiology, motor functions of the spinal cord and cord reflexes, cerebellum and basal ganglia. Integrative physiology: intellectual functions of the brain (learning and memory). States of brain activity: sleep, brain waves, autonomic nervous system.
